iFreeUp Quick Start Guide


Congratulations on making the smart decision of choosing iFreeUp!

iFreeUp is a light yet powerful tool to manage your iOS devices on PC. It detects and cleans various junk files to boost your iOS devices’ performance, removes large files for more free storage space, transfers important and private files between your iOS devices and PC, and prevents privacy leak by shredding every deleted file.

Quick Clean Screen

Note: To use iFreeUp, you need to connect your iOS device to PC and install iTunes in PC. This Quick Start Guide below takes iPad for example.

Quick Clean screen is the first screen you will see when open iFreeUp.

There are five types of junk files: Junk Files Clean, Privacy Sweep, Privacy Anti-theft, Photo Shred and Performance Optimize. By default, all the five types of junk files are checked. Just click the SCAN button on the right to start the scan. Also, you can uncheck the items which you don't want to scan before that.

Junk Files Clean: Check it to deeply clean various app and game caches and useless files.

Privacy Sweep: Check it to smart scan and erase your activity history, app cookies and logs.

Privacy Anti-theft: Check it to prevent privacy leak by powerfully shredding everything selected.

Photo Shred: Check it to shred your deleted and cached photos to prevent photos leak.

Performance Optimize: Check it to clean app crash logs and system logs and boost app launch speed.


iPad Health: It provides the easiest way to show the overview of your iOS device status: Unknown, Perfect, Fair and Poor. Move your cursor over the text to view a summarized performance report of your iOS device.


Tom's iPad: It displays the owner name and space usage of this iOS device.

Activate Now: Click Activate Now button to open the registration window below.

Enter your license code to register the Pro edition by clicking Enter License text or purchase a new license code online by clicking Activate Now button. After upgrading to Pro edition, you can see Manage License link at the same position of Activate Now button. You can click it to view / export / refresh your license.

Scan Result Screen

Click the button CLEAN to clean the junk files and issues to free up your iOS device’s space.

Or click to see the details of the junk files scanned out, e.g. the scan result of Junk Files Clean as below.

If you don’t want to clean a certain app, you can right click it, and then choose ignore this app like the following picture. The ignored apps will be displayed in Ignore List. (It will be introduced later in Settings part.)

After the clean is finished, click the button DONE to get back to the Quick Clean screen.

File Manager Screen

Here you can manage your Apps, Photos, Music, Videos, Podcasts and iBooks.

There are three options: Import, Export and Safe Delete.

Import: Click it to import files from PC to your iOS device.

Export: Choose an item, then click Export button to export this item from your iOS device to your PC.

Safe Delete: Choose an item and click Safe Delete button to delete this item from your iOS device.

By using these features, you can easily export any Apps, Photos, Music, Videos, Podcasts and iBooks to your PC, and then import them to your other iOS devices. Or you can use these features to export Apps, Photos, Music, Videos, Podcasts and iBooks to your PC and delete them in your iOS devices to free up more space without worrying that important files are deleted. Any way, you can import them back at any time.

Click on the top right corner to search apps quickly.

Click on the top right corner to change the view between icon and list.

More Settings

Click the More Settings icon on the top right corner of Quick Clean screen or File Manager screen to display the options: Settings, What’s New, Send Feedback, Technical Support, Check for Updates, User Manual, IObit Online and About.

Settings Screen

There are four columns on the left: General, Logs, Notifications and Ignore List.

Click the button will restore the default settings.

Note: Please click Apply button to save your modifications.


Here provides the settings for: Current Language, Skip User Account Control Warning, Secure Deletion (it is for Pro users only), and File Manager.


Here provides the settings for the logs generated by iFreeUp.

With Automatically save the logs after clean checked, it will save the clean logs automatically.

You can click the buttons View Log, Clear All and Delete to manage your logs.

You can also click the link Open Log Folder to see all the logs stored in that folder.


Check the checkbox Enable device connection notification, you will be informed when your iOS device is connected to PC.

Check the checkbox Enable cleanup connection notification before deleting files from File Manager, you will be informed before you delete files in File Manager.

Check the checkbox Enable notification for export, ou will be informed when you export files in File Manager.

Check the checkbox Enable notification for import, you will be informed when you import files in File Manager.

Check the checkbox Enable notification for delete, you will be informed after you delete files in File Manager.

Ignore List

The apps displayed in the Ignore List are the ones that you ignored when you run Quick Clean.

Here iFreeUp supports combinations keys Ctrl and Shift to select multiple items to remove them.
